ITW - Conversation with Elyanna: Her Debut Album Woledto and First Paris Performance

Elyanna, the 22-year-old Palestinian-Chilean artist, is making a major mark in her music career. In 2023, she became the first artist to perform in Arabic on Coachella's legendary stage, propelling her international career to new heights. Combining Arab and Latin influences, she captivated listeners worldwide with hits like "GANENI," "Mama Eh," and "Ghareeb Alay" featuring Balti. In 2024, she joined Coldplay’s world tour and collaborated on their single "We Pray" alongside Burna Boy, Little Simz, and Tini.

But Elyanna isn’t stopping there. She continues to push her artistic boundaries with the much-anticipated release of her debut album Woledto, which highlights her personal and musical journey. This album, meaning “I was born” in Arabic, marks the beginning of a new era for the artist, exploring themes like identity and resilience. Elyanna enchanted the Parisian crowd during her exceptional concert at La Cigale on December 1, 2024.

Paris: A Dream Come True

Since childhood, Elyanna dreamt of singing in Paris. That dream became a reality when she captivated the audience at La Cigale, who sang along with her to every song.

“It’s everyone’s dream to come to Paris and perform. Their energy was incredible, and they didn’t disappoint.”

Woledto : An Artistic Renaissance

Elyanna’s latest album, Woledto, which means "I was born," marks a pivotal point in her artistic evolution.

“This album is a rebirth for me. I’ve discovered a new sound and a new message. This is just the beginning, a part of a larger story that will unfold over time.”

A Career Shaped by Great Experiences

Elyanna doesn’t want to define her career by just one decisive moment. For her, every experience is an opportunity to grow as an artist.

"I learn from everything: from tours, from creating my albums, and from all other experiences. All of this feeds my inspiration"

Staying Grounded: Family and Roots on the Road

Despite the demands of life on tour, Elyanna stays deeply connected to her roots through her family, who often accompany her.

“My brother plays piano with me, my father travels with us often, and my mother is always on FaceTime.”

This closeness helps her remain grounded and overcome the challenges of life on the road.

Elyanna's music is deeply influenced by the support and collaboration of her brother, Feras (also known as Fairdose). He plays a central role in her artistic journey, not only as a creative director but also as a musician. Feras is key to their live performances, often playing the piano, and his musical influence is evident in every project Elyanna undertakes, including her album Woledto. This family collaboration is a powerful force that shapes Elyanna's sound and artistic expression.

Elyanna Opens Up

In a quick-fire round of questions, Elyanna shared some personal insights:

  • Dream destination: Tunis. I love this city.

  • Three essentials: My family, my passion, and Arabic food.

  • Favorite dish: Maklouba, a Palestinian dish my mom makes. It’s paradise.

  • Best advice received: “Pure intentions will always guide you, even in tough times.”

Her Most "Honeyest" Song

Finally, when asked which of her songs she found the "honeyest," Elyanna responded:

"I would say SHEE. For me, honey is sexy and bold. And that's exactly what this track is."

An Artist to Watch

With Woledto, Elyanna has clearly demonstrated that she is an artist in constant evolution, ready to represent her culture on a global stage. Her performance in Paris and her universal message of community and love continue to inspire her fans.

"My goal is for my fans to feel like part of a community, to find comfort and joy in my music."

Elyanna’s ability to blend her Palestinian and Chilean roots with global influences allows her to forge deep connections with her audience, creating a space where cultural boundaries fade away in favor of shared emotional experiences. This powerful message of unity and inclusivity resonates strongly, making her one of the most exciting artists to follow in the years to come.
